THE FIRM

The attorneys of Friedman, Suder & Cooke serve clients throughout the United States and overseas as experts in business and civil litigation, including patent infringement and oil and gas litigation. Established in 1993, our firm is composed solely of trial lawyers whose singular focus is providing the highest quality litigation services to individuals and businesses seeking guidance in all areas of complex civil litigation. Our successes often include multimillion dollar results for our clients in a number of high profile, publicized cases. We represent clients in every level of state and federal court, which includes all necessary appellate practice and argument. We are experts in our fields, well-known and respected by our peers, and experienced and savvy enough to get the job done for you.

As a small, cohesive firm, we are selective in the cases we accept. For the cases we take, we work hard, engaging each other in strategic planning sessions geared to produce the clearest path to the results our clients seek. We strive to provide services in a timely, cost-effective, ethical, and professional manner, with our clients’ needs and goals as our principal concern. Because of the size and complexity of our cases, we commonly square off against the largest law firms and some of the biggest companies in the country. We feel our size, experience, and diligence combines to provide us with an advantage in these litigations. The firm's patent litigation practice was recently featured in a story produced by Spark360. Half our firm is focused almost exclusively on patent infringement litigation. We have made a name for ourselves as top-notch civil and patent litigators whose vast experiences inside the courtroom help us to achieve our clients' goals. In the intellectual property arena, we often represent inventors and patent owners on an array of contingent fee bases, allowing the inventors to protect their intellectual property against large corporations. We regularly work with other intellectual property lawyers around the country to evaluate and, if warranted, pursue infringement claims on behalf of clients who are unable to fund a patent infringement lawsuit on a traditional hourly-fee plus expenses basis. We have gained national recognition as plaintiff’s contingency fee, patent attorneys who can go up against and beat the big, global law firms and companies.

In the area of oil and gas, we have represented mineral interest owners and producers on complex accounting matters, oil well blowouts, development agreement issues, production contracts, land issues and royalty disputes. We represent interest owners, producers and operators on a regular basis.

We have represented a number of banks in lawsuits. We have been frequently called on to represent bank trust departments in fiduciary duty cases. We have also represented the commercial side of a number of banks involving many issues from antitrust to lender claims.

Further, we often represent small businesses in disputes involving contracts, fraud, securities, antitrust, employment and real property claims. And we have ample experience representing contractors in commercial and residential construction disputes.

Our attorneys possess high academic credentials, maintain exceptional community ties, and are dedicated to achieving justice for those we represent. To us, achieving justice means protecting our clients’ rights while obtaining the results our clients deserve. We know we are privileged to be entrusted with our clients’ causes, and we strive to return that trust in the form of expert advocacy and open lines of communication. To ensure we provide the highest level of service and maintain our sensitivity to the ever-changing legal landscape, our attorneys are members of and active in the American Bar Association, the Federal Circuit Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas Litigation Council, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Tarrant County Bar Foundation and many other organizations. To us, maintaining community ties, staying involved, and most of all treating our clients with respect and maintaining a trustworthy relationship is the only way to practice law.

In summary, courtroom experience, dedication to quality, keen understanding of the law, creativity, and long-standing relationships with our clients, the community, and other attorneys across the country are the tenets that form the bedrock of Friedman, Suder & Cooke. We look forward to representing you when the need arises.

SUPPORT STAFF

The backbone of FSC is our long-standing staff, all of whom have played a vital role in the success that FSC has enjoyed since its inception. Our support staff includes our Office Manager Carol Cameron; Secretaries Dawn Hansen, Amy Hermesch, and Amanda Ramsey; Paralegal Cindy Dunn; Runners Cathleen Peace and Albert Sanchez and Receptionist Kelly Gamewell, and can boast a combined 95 years of experience working here at FSC. It is undeniable that FSC would neither enjoy the success it has in the past nor its fine reputation without the essential functions performed by its knowledgeable and experienced support staff.

LAW CLERKS

FSC’s law clerks currently include Rick Sanchez, a second year student at Texas Wesleyan. Rick has an extensive engineering background including a degree in electrical engineering and experience with patent prosecution. Rick provides FSC with vital support in working with complex, technical patents. Many of our current attorneys began at FSC as law clerks.
